Wiping soot with a regular cloth almost always smears fine particulate deeper into the surface — our Joint Base Mdl, NJ technicians use a dabbing technique with chemical sponges specifically to avoid that.

Our technique avoids the streaking that comes from wiping soot with a rag.
We match the cleaning method to the material, not the other way around.
Local Joint Base Mdl crews mean faster arrival before damage compounds.
HEPA vacuums capture fine particulate instead of recirculating it into the air.
Sponges get replaced frequently during a job since a soot-saturated sponge starts redepositing particulate.
This step happens before any wet cleaning, since vacuuming first prevents particulate from smearing when surfaces get wet.
Non-porous surfaces respond well to solvent cleaners that would stain something more absorbent.
We prioritize metal fixtures early in the job since the corrosion clock starts immediately.
Ceilings get cleaned before walls, since falling particulate would otherwise recontaminate freshly cleaned wall surfaces.
We clean vents and returns as part of the same visit, not as a separate service call.
A technician answers and schedules the fastest available crew.
Crews arrive with HEPA vacuums and dry-chemical sponges on board.
You approve the scope before any sponge or solvent touches a surface.
Cleaning proceeds surface by surface with a final walkthrough to confirm.
"We tried wiping the soot ourselves and just smeared it worse. Meridian Smoke Damage's sponge technique actually lifted it without streaking." — Homeowner, Joint Base Mdl
"They caught the soot on our kitchen faucet before it started pitting, which the adjuster said saved us a hardware replacement claim." — Homeowner, Joint Base Mdl, NJ
"I didn't expect the vacuum step to matter that much, but the carpets ended up much cleaner than our own attempt." — Homeowner, Joint Base Mdl
Wiping smears fine particulate deeper into porous surfaces instead of lifting it out.
We prioritize metal surfaces early specifically because of that corrosion window.
Surface type determines whether we use dry sponges or solvent-based cleaners.
Soot removal reduces odor but a dedicated odor treatment may still be needed for lingering smell.
Yes, HEPA vacuum extraction handles soft surfaces before any wet cleaning begins.
Usually within the hour, with Joint Base Mdl crews staged locally.
We keep response times short across Joint Base Mdl specifically because soot corrosion is a time-sensitive problem.
